‘Process evaluations’ employ a variety of methods used in the social sciences, normally including both qualitative and quantitative methods. That is, should evaluators act as passive observers who feed findings back at the end of an evaluation or help to correct problems in implementation as and when they appear.When planning a process evaluation, evaluators need to ensure that there is sufficient expertise and experience to decide on, and achieve, its aims.
