Dentzel Carousel Horse – SOLD
A turn of the 19th century rare carved wood American carnival carousel horse with original paint attributed to the famous Dentzel family of Germantown, PA attached to a working rocking base. Superbly carved as evident by the horse mane with its original glass eyes. The base was expertly engineered and probably continued to bring many smiles to the children who rode on it. Last origin was southeastern WI. Rare piece of American carnival history.
Brilliant colors with paint loss and antique condition with no major defects.
